Dr. Erich Fisher is a professional archaeologist with 20+ years of experience. He’s written a ton of papers and shared his work on TV, at conferences, and just about everywhere in between. He specializes in the study of modern human evolution in Africa and he's led large, international research teams and worked at some of the most iconic archaeological sites. In 2024, he launched the Before Us podcast with Dr. Helen Farr, tracing humanity’s journey from early interest in aquatic resources to the global spread of modern humans via oceans, rivers, and coastlines. While making Before Us, Dr. Erich noticed that his two kids (ages 3 and 8) loved listening—even though the show was meant for adults. That sparked an idea.

Dr. Erich believes kids love to learn, especially when they get to help lead the conversation. So, he created Before Us Kids!—a fun, (mostly) funny, and engaging show where kids of all ages can explore the world, both now and before us.
